The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Liddell, right into the meat.
Liddell misses with a double jab.
Liddell throws a nice looking combination but Oliveira bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Liddell lands a nice looking body shot.

Liddell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Liddell would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Oliveira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Liddell stays in close to Oliveira's body and controls the position.

Oliveira is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Liddell defends well.

Oliveira throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Liddell escapes and throws Oliveira's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Liddell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Oliveira knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Liddell connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Oliveira some visible discomfort.
Oliveira is trying to control Liddell's posture but Liddell avoids it.
Oliveira is trying to get back to half guard.
Liddell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oliveira on the ground.
Liddell wants to control but Oliveira is keeping him busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Charlie Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Oliveira circles away quickly and effectively.

Nice uppercut lands for Liddell. That snapped Oliveira's head back.
Liddell tries to clinch but Oliveira is having none of it.
Oliveira defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Liddell.
