The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Couture connects with a nice short shot to Evans's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Couture looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Evans with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Evans cracks Couture with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Evans cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Couture sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Couture bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evans's guard.
