Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couture has chosen The Chicken Dance as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Couture!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Howard takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
John Howard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howard misses with a looping right.
Howard throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Couture rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Howard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Couture tries a head kick but it misses.
Howard misses with a wild body shot.
Howard throws a shot from downtown. Couture moves away and avoids it.

Howard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Howard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Howard postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Couture looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Howard is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Couture has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Couture!
Couture wants to control from the top but Howard keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Couture might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Howard kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Couture throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Howard slips under a jab.
Howard moves out of range as Couture strikes.
Howard sizes up Couture with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Howard misses with a straight left.
Couture uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Howard.
Couture misses with a looping left.
Howard checks the leg kick nicely there.
Couture takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Howard stalks Couture and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Couture's face. Couture staggers backwards, shaken.
Couture ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Couture wants to clinch up but Howard keeps it at a distance.
Couture steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Howard.
Howard slips a jab from Couture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Couture throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Couture cracks Howard with an open hand slap.
Howard connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Couture throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Howard connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Couture's hands.
Howard throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Couture counters with a stiff right hand.
Couture throws a front kick aimed at Howard's knee but Howard avoids it well.
Howard throws an overhand right that lands on Couture's shoulder, as Couture tries to avoid the shot.
Howard punishes Couture's body with a nice straight punch.
Couture ducks right into an uppercut from Howard.
Couture displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Howard throws out the jab.
Howard looks to score with a jab to the body but Couture is just out of range.
Howard lands with a shot to the body.
Couture looks gassed!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Howard scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Howard clobbers Couture with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Couture throws a body punch but Howard moves out of range.
Couture misses with a hook.
Couture takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Howard dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Howard closes the distance looking for a takedown. Couture stuffs it but Howard still has hold of him. Howard picks Couture up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Howard slams Couture to the floor and that's really hurt Couture - he doesn't know where he is! Howard throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Howard!
