Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob McCaig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chay Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willis has chosen As I Lay Dying - Through Struggle as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob McCaig!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Chay Willis!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
McCaig doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fighters circling - McCaig throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A swing and a miss from Willis.
Willis stuns McCaig with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Willis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McCaig ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
McCaig shoots in for a takedown but Willis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McCaig pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Willis lands a lovely overhand right.
McCaig moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
No joy there for Willis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Willis looks to score with a jab to the body but McCaig is just out of range.
Willis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McCaig is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Willis's half guard.
Willis tries to get to full guard but McCaig has control of the leg.

McCaig is working for a kimura but Willis is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McCaig is thwarting Willis's attempts to control the position.
Willis is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but McCaig is staying active.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Willis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Willis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McCaig.
McCaig scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Willis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Chay Willis seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Willis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCaig manages to avoid it.
Nice takedown defense from Willis. No joy for McCaig on that attempt.

Willis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Willis is looking to stall here but McCaig recovers full guard.

Willis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Willis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
McCaig is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Willis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McCaig thinking.

McCaig ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

McCaig throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and McCaig counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Willis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Willis swings and misses with a shot to the body
and McCaig counters with a nice uppercut.
Willis throws the left hand but McCaig avoids the punch easily.
McCaig missing with a left hand there. Willis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Willis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McCaig misses with a looping right.
Willis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCaig circles away quickly and effectively.
Willis lands with a right hand.
McCaig is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
McCaig shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Willis counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob McCaig. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCaig is looking to land body kicks.

Willis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McCaig stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McCaig closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Willis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McCaig manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

and Willis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and McCaig counters with a right hand to the body.

McCaig is looking for a sweep. Willis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McCaig is not content to let Willis control the position.

Willis is trying to control. McCaig wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McCaig displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Willis throws out the jab.
Willis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Willis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McCaig's guard.

Willis is pushing down on McCaig's leg trying to pass to half guard. McCaig is fighting to maintain full guard but Willis has managed to sneak the leg through.
McCaig is staying active underneath Willis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
McCaig is not content to let Willis control the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Willis has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McCaig's face.
McCaig tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McCaig is working hard here to advance position.
Willis breaks from McCaig's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Willis lands with some strikes.
Willis controlling the pace for now.

McCaig is trying to escape the mount.
Willis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McCaig looks a forlorn figure.

McCaig is bucking up trying to escape but Willis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Willis looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has McCaig covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
