The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kres is looking to clinch but Schmitt is avoiding it.
Schmitt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schmitt on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kres. Kres obviously looking to wear him down.
Schmitt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kres moves forwards but Schmitt connects with a nice, crisp jab.


It looks like Deni Kres has been cut.
Schmitt throws a jab but it's blocked by Kres.
Kres is looking to clinch but Schmitt is avoiding it.
Schmitt misses with a wild body shot.
Schmitt throws a shot from downtown. Kres moves away and avoids it.
Kres steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Schmitt.
Schmitt throws a right and a left that both miss.
Schmitt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kres manages to avoid it.
Kres tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kres shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Kres is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schmitt is just riding it out for now. Kres eventually gives up the hold.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kres wants to take a breather but Schmitt is having none of it.

Kres has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kres is landing with some decent strikes but Schmitt is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The crowd cheers as Schmitt lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kres doesn't seem phased though.

Schmitt throws a right and a left that Kres avoids nicely.
Willheim Schmitt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kres displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Schmitt throws out the jab.
Kres takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Schmitt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Schmitt lunges at Kres with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kres's hand.
Schmitt catches Kres with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kres defending well as Schmitt loads up on a big left hand.
Kres slips a jab from Schmitt.

Kres looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kres with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Kres postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Schmitt looks a forlorn figure.
Kres takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kres shoots for a takedown but Schmitt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kres shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Schmitt cracks Kres with an open hand slap.
Schmitt misses with an uppercut.
Schmitt throws a nice looking combination but Kres bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Schmitt throws a body punch but Kres moves out of range.
Willheim Schmitt is winning the standup battle so far.

Kres slips a straight right by Schmitt.
Kres ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Schmitt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Schmitt stalks Kres and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kres's face. Kres staggers backwards, shaken.


The cut above Deni Kres's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kres tries to close the distance and clinch but Schmitt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Deni Kres has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kres tries to clinch up but Schmitt circles away and keeps his distance.
Kres doesn't manage to clinch there - Schmitt circles away.
Kres tries for a takedown but Schmitt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Schmitt cracks Kres with a right hand to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kres walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Kres avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Willheim Schmitt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kres fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schmitt avoids it really well and circles away.
Willheim Schmitt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deni Kres.
Kres slips a jab and a cross from Schmitt.
Nice straight punches there by Schmitt. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Schmitt.


Deni Kres's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Schmitt lands a really nice looking cross but Kres seems unphased.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Deni Kres's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
