Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Peter Jackson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Jackson!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brennan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jackson is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jackson passes into side control, despite Brennan's attempt to control the position.

Jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brennan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jackson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Brennan is now in Jackson's guard. A big mistake from Jackson there, giving up the dominant position!

Brennan slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.

Jackson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jackson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brennan. That did some damage!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Brennan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Despite being in the dominant position, Peter Jackson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brennan takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Brennan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Jackson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Brennan has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Brennan!

Jackson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Brennan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Jackson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Brennan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Peter Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
