Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pad Digger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pad Digger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Davison!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davison tries to score a power double leg takedown but Digger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davison somewhat.
Davison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Davison counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Davison.
Davison wants to control from the top but Digger keeps moving.
Digger wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Davison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Digger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davison defends well.
Digger seems keen to control Davison's posture.

Digger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Digger thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Davison won't allow Digger to sweep him here.
Digger pulls Davison in close to prevent any damage.
Davison stands and steps away. Digger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Davison misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Digger with a poor takedown
and Davison counters with a nice double leg into side control. Digger won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Digger's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Davison goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Digger rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Davison's guard! Nice work there by Digger!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Pad Digger just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Digger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davison's half guard.

Digger connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Davison some visible discomfort.
Digger is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Davison's shoulder. That is not cool.
Pad Digger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Digger's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Digger looks up at the clock and then as Davison takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Digger smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee asks Digger politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Digger prefers to stall for the moment though.

Digger looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Digger is taking a breather. Davison says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Digger in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Davison tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Digger!
