Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Poopdeck PJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Rodey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodey has chosen Frisky as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Poopdeck PJ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean Rodey!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodey tries for a takedown but PJ sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rodey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rodey is looking to clinch but PJ is avoiding it.
A slow jab from PJ misses its intended target.
Sean Rodey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodey is looking to slow PJ down with leg kicks.

Rodey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. PJ sprawls well initially but Rodey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rodey has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, PJ works to full guard.
Rodey looking to pass the guard.
Rodey postures up in PJ's guard and throws a big left but PJ blocks it.
Rodey throws and elbow that misses. PJ uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rodey's guard. Nice move by PJ!

PJ wants to control from the top but Rodey keeps moving.
Rodey looking to hit a scissor sweep but PJ is one step ahead there.
Rodey trying to keep a closed guard but PJ is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

PJ closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rodey tries to kick PJ off but PJ keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
PJ content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rodey keeping hold of PJ's head, controlling as best he can.

PJ seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rodey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodey is pressing down on PJ's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rodey keeping moving, preventing PJ from controlling successfully.
PJ is in close to Rodey's body, working some short punches and elbows.
PJ pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rodey is keeping the position for now.
PJ won't allow Rodey to sweep him here.
Rodey looking to control.
PJ slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
PJ trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
PJ lands a couple of digs.
Rodey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

PJ manages to get to full guard.
Rodey looking to sit in guard and control but PJ gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rodey wants to stand but PJ is controlling the position.
PJ looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
PJ trying to control the position from guard on top but Rodey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rodey being controlled here, momentarily.
PJ's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
PJ wants to control from the top but Rodey keeps moving.
PJ stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rodey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in PJ's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rodey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Poopdeck PJ will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rodey is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rodey cracks PJ with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Rodey uses good head movement to avoid the hook from PJ.
PJ connects with a right hand. Rodey shakes it off.
PJ loads up on a big right hand but Rodey slips the punch.
A jab from Rodey misses.
PJ will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
PJ throws a lazy right hand but Rodey sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rodey swats away the attempt to clinch by PJ.
Rodey closes the distance looking to clinch
enabling PJ to counter with a crisp jab.

PJ shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than PJ was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rodey is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Rodey tries to hold on but PJ pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
PJ trying to control but Rodey is having none of it.
Rodey is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Rodey can't escape the position.
PJ controlling from the full mount.
Rodey is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodey tries to lock up and control but PJ gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rodey is breathing heavily.
PJ won't let Rodey get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Rodey wants to control but PJ is having none of it.
PJ looking to control but Rodey is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
PJ controlling from mount.
Rodey wants to hold on but PJ pushes him away.
Rodey is in a horrible position here. PJ smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
PJ content just to control the position here.
Rodey is working to get back to half guard.
PJ raining down shots from the mount!
PJ controlling from the full mount.
Rodey in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

PJ lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
PJ trying to control but he's not successful this time.
PJ controlling the pace for now.

Rodey defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from PJ.
PJ takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
PJ can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rodey is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Poopdeck PJ just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
PJ throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
PJ avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rodey moves out of range as PJ strikes.
Rodey fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rodey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Rodey shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
PJ regains full guard. Nicely done.
PJ has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Poopdeck PJ dominated that second round.
That's time! PJ's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


PJ displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rodey.
A right-left combo lands from Rodey.
Rodey throws a hook but PJ avoids it easily.
Good exchange - PJ coming out on top.
Rodey scoring well with a low kick there.
PJ lands with a cross.
PJ tries to clinch up but Rodey circles away and keeps his distance.
Rodey slips under a jab.

Rodey rushes PJ and presses him up against the cage.
Come on PJ - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
PJ is pressed up against the cage. Rodey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag PJ down to the mat. PJ avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
PJ throws out a loose jab but Rodey uses good head movement to avoid it.

PJ closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rodey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rodey is trying to control but can't.

Rodey wants to get back to his feet.
Rodey is trying to maintain the position but PJ is very close to passing his half guard.
Rodey wants to improve his position but PJ is controlling well.
Well, if PJ is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
PJ thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
PJ content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rodey wants to control the action here but instead PJ manages to pass to full mount!
Rodey tries to hold on but PJ postures up.
PJ content just to control the position here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rodey is trying desperately to improve position.
PJ tries to control but Rodey wriggling away.
PJ lands a big shot there that rocks Rodey but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Poopdeck PJ overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
PJ controlling from mount.
Rodey wants to control but PJ is having none of it.
PJ is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rodey can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rodey is looking to improve his position but PJ isn't that keen on the idea.

PJ fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
PJ connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Rodey working to try and regain half guard.
PJ lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
PJ sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rodey tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sean Rodey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
PJ lands a heavy elbow.
PJ prevents Rodey from getting the reversal.
Rodey is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

PJ has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rodey is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
PJ sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Poopdeck PJ is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rodey keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Poopdeck PJ showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for PJ, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
