Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alessio Delvecchio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Hunt!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delvecchio throws a right hand that Hunt ducks under and follows up with a left that Hunt also avoids with ease.
Good shot there by Delvecchio.
Good standup being displayed there by Delvecchio as he connects with a hook.
Hunt looks for a takedown but Delvecchio sprawls well.
Delvecchio looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hunt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hunt takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Delvecchio defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hunt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunt slips under a jab.
Delvecchio lands a jab to the nose.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Delvecchio jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hunt tries to clinch up.
Nice defenses there by Hunt.
Hunt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Delvecchio's waist but Delvecchio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hunt off to one side.
Alessio Delvecchio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hunt.
Hunt ducks under a wild hook from Delvecchio.
Delvecchio lands a nice hook to Hunt's body. Hunt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Delvecchio drops Hunt with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hunt looks back up at him and smiles so Delvecchio waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Hunt is rocked!
It looks like Mike Hunt has been cut.
Delvecchio connects with a stiff jab that staggers Hunt - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alessio Delvecchio!
