The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
black shoots in for a takedown but Rutten shows good takedown defense.
Rutten lands a nice looking kick to the body. black takes a step back to recover.
black fails with a takedown attempt.
Rutten throws a sloppy head kick and black moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rutten looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rutten fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with black, pushing him back against the cage.
black is trying to break free.
Rutten wants a takedown but no success here.
Rutten has black pressed against the cage, preventing black from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
black stops a takedown attempt from Rutten.
black looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
black tries to circle away but Rutten has him pinned against the cage.

Rutten escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
