Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robin Gaia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomko Trupu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaia's entrance music is Manowar- Battle Hymn. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Trupu's choice of entrance music: Godsmack I Stand Alone. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trupu misses with a looping right.

Trupu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gaia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gaia tries to improve position but can't.

Trupu working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gaia gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gaia wants to improve his position but Trupu is controlling well.
Trupu throwing shots but Gaia is blocking nicely.
Trupu is looking to take a break and control but Gaia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trupu is looking to advance position but Gaia won't allow it.
Gaia has hold of Trupu's hands but Trupu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Gaia is defending against the submission attempts here by Trupu.
Gaia makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gaia.

Gaia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Trupu passes into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Trupu lands a nice short elbow.
Gaia is staying active underneath Trupu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Trupu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gaia doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Trupu.
Gaia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Trupu is trying to control the action in half guard but Gaia is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Gaia tries to roll over but Trupu keeps him under control.
Gaia moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gaia is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Trupu throws out a leg kick but Gaia moves out of range and Trupu only half commits.

Gaia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Trupu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gaia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gaia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gaia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trupu trying to keep a closed guard but Gaia is proving a slippery customer.

Trupu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gaia manages to get himself to full guard.

Gaia has his feet on Trupu's thighs here. He's pushed Trupu off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Trupu screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
