Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Teddy KOs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Mariachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teddy KOs looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Mariachi!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KOs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mariachi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mariachi tries to move to mount but KOs blocks the move with his legs.
Mariachi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused KOs some visible discomfort.
KOs tries to bench press Mariachi off him but Mariachi keeps the position.
KOs prevents Mariachi from moving into mount.
KOs looking for a sweep but Mariachi has passed into full mount! Oh no!
KOs is squirming around, avoiding Mariachi's attempts to control the action.
KOs is looking to improve his position but Mariachi isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mariachi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mariachi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mariachi wants to control but KOs is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
KOs sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Mariachi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for KOs!
KOs tries to hold on but Mariachi postures up.

KOs takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

KOs has given up his back here. Will Mariachi look for the submission or keep pounding away?

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mariachi connects with a nice short shot to KOs's temple.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
KOs wants to sweep but no luck.

Diego Mariachi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Mariachi shoots for a takedown but KOs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mariachi keeping full guard, as KOs tries to pass.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mariachi is looking to clinch.
Mariachi misses with a head kick.

KOs has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mariachi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for KOs.
KOs tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mariachi presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
KOs is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mariachi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mariachi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Teddy KOs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Diego Mariachi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Mariachi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
