Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Snow Man!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
X tries to clinch but Man is having none of it.

X gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Man to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Man stands up and waves to X to follow him.
Francois X seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
X fails with the takedown

and Man counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
X not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Man stops X from standing up.
X is trying to control the position from the bottom.
X knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Man on the ground.
X has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Man controlling from the top position.

Man decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on X, up you get!

X tries to keep at a distance but Man has taken the fight into the clinch.
X gets through Man's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Man on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Man jumps guard but X stands there with Man around his waist. Man gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
X wants to break the clinch but can't.
X has had enough of the clinch but Man keeps him there for the moment.

X misses with a knee strike.
X jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Man walks away with a smile on his face. X gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
X doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in X's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francois X. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Man is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Man in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
X is trying to keep Man in close.
X will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Man tries to free his leg and advance position but X is retaining full guard.

Man stands and steps away. X gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
X looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
X looks to clinch

and Man counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in X's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
X is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Man trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

X wants to stand but Man is controlling the position.
X is trying to control the position but Man postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Man looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Man in particular looking to stall.
Man passes to full mount!
X is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

X tries to hold on but Man pushes him away.

Man scores with a couple of good head shots there.
X is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Man takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
X can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snow Man dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Man tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but X paws at him with a jab and circles away.
X lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
X tries a knee to the head but Man blocks it.
X tries for a takedown but Man manages to get underhooks.
X wants to get back to striking at distance but Man won't allow it.

X breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
X tries to clinch up.

and Man counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

and Man counters with a single leg into guard. X didn't expect that.
X is trying to control the position but Man postures up.

X throws a punch but it's blocked by Man.

Man decides to pull guard.
Man seems keen to control X's posture.
Man wants to sweep but no luck.
X throws a big right hand that misses.

Man scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Man circles away from the clinch attempt

and Man counters with a shoot takedown. X fights it but they end up in guard.
Man is breathing heavily.
X is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Man controls from within his opponent's guard.
Man has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

X is looking to stand up but Man isn't so interested in that idea.
X looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
X is trying to keep Man in close.
Man is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Man tries to pull guard but X holds him up against the cage and eventually Man drops back down to his feet.

X misses with a knee to the head.

Man breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
X throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Man counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Man.

Man shoots in and bounces X off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Man passes X's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Man is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
X is trying to control but can't.
X looks like he's trying to stand up.
Man slows the pace down in half guard.
Man takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Man is sneakily working for an arm triangle but X sees it coming and defends easily.

Man is thwarting X's attempts to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
X tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Man counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Man.

Man lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Man.
Man thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
X wants to escape the position.

Francois X has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
X trying to control but not successfully.
Man trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure X doesn't escape.

Man is looking for the choke from the back position but X is controlling his hands well.

X covering up well under a barage of strikes.
X trying to control the position but Man manages to sink in the hooks.
I would not like to be X right now.
X trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Man doesn't have the hooks in and X manages to turn into his guard.
X working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Man dodges the punch combination from X.
Snow Man is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Man takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Snow Man comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Man winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
