PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gleidson Roberto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmidt kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is DMX/X gonna give it to ya. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schmidt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schmidt showed some decent athleticism there.
Roberto is trying to stand back up but Schmidt is controlling him

Schmidt is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Roberto sees it coming and defends easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Roberto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Schmidt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roberto napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Schmidt creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Roberto sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Schmidt will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Schmidt drops back looking for a leg! Roberto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roberto manages to kick Schmidt off! Schmidt jumps back into Roberto's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Schmidt.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Schmidt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
