Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brett Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smail Greyci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hart might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bret Hart theme Song. Smail Greyci has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greyci will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
No joy there for Hart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hart throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Greyci.
Hart misses with a double jab.
Greyci fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

so Greyci counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Greyci forces his way into half guard.
Hart wants to get back to his feet.

Greyci is trying to work for a kimura but Hart is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hart is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Greyci is controlling him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hart is on top in guard.

Hart is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Greyci is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Greyci has escaped and now he's on top!

Greyci throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hart works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hart is looking to stand up but Greyci isn't so interested in that idea.

Greyci is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hart has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Greyci off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hart gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Greyci counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Greyci stalling away here and it's allowed Hart to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hart preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hart wants to stand but Greyci is controlling the position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Greyci counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hart has his foot on Greyci's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Greyci works his way back into a safe position though.

Greyci has gone for a leg lock! Hart slips out almost immediately though and dives into Greyci's guard.

Hart drops back looking for a leg! Greyci is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Greyci manages to kick Hart off! Hart jumps back into Greyci's guard.
Hart wants to control from the top but Greyci keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Greyci can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hart drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Greyci manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hart has Greyci in his guard.

Greyci stands up from Hart's guard - Greyci perhaps looking for a knockout.

Greyci bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hart gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hart trying to control from the bottom.
Smail Greyci has got the better of the ground game so far.
Greyci with the ground and pound but Hart uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Greyci prevents Hart from getting back to his feet.

Greyci drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hart looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hart looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hart!

Hart has hold of Greyci's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Greyci tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hart cranks the arm and Greyci screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Greyci, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Brett Hart!
