Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between mike whitby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutus Mamimus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). whitby's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, turn my swag on. Brutus Mamimus has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with mike whitby's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by whitby.
whitby lands a head kick. Mamimus smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Mamimus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mamimus wants to clinch.
whitby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
whitby really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mamimus closes this distance looking for a takedown but whitby circles away.
Mamimus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with whitby but whitby pushes him off and we're back to square one.

whitby uses his free foot to push down on Mamimus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mamimus.

whitby is nestled in close to Mamimus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

whitby seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mamimus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but whitby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mamimus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. whitby doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. whitby manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mamimus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mamimus wants to lay and pray for a moment but whitby keeps working.
whitby wants to improve his position but Mamimus is controlling well.

whitby seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
