The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGowen misses with the combination.
McGowen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
McGowen takes a kick to the side of the head.
Takaki fakes the leg kick and cracks McGowen in the body.
Takaki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McGowen fails to land the takedown.
McGowen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Takaki scores with a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Takaki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McGowen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Takaki stuffs the takedown.
Takaki feints and then cracks McGowen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McGowen down.
Takaki circles away from the clinch attempt.
McGowen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

McGowen is breathing heavily.
McGowen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Takaki as he jumps to the side.
