Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masashi Kawazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CANALHA JUNIOR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). CANALHA JUNIOR has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masashi Kawazu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, CANALHA JUNIOR!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kawazu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
JUNIOR is trying is best to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
JUNIOR is not content to let Kawazu control the position.
Kawazu working the head and body with strikes.
JUNIOR is looking to improve his position.
JUNIOR wants to control but Kawazu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kawazu is trying to control the action in half guard but JUNIOR is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kawazu is taking a breather. JUNIOR says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kawazu stalling away here and it's allowed JUNIOR to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
JUNIOR seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kawazu trying to stand up but can't free himself from JUNIOR's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kawazu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kawazu passes into half guard.
JUNIOR is looking to control Kawazu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can JUNIOR avoid being mounted?
JUNIOR might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kawazu kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
JUNIOR makes his way to full guard. A much better position for JUNIOR.
Kawazu is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Kawazu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kawazu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with JUNIOR but JUNIOR pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kawazu shoots in for a takedown but JUNIOR shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


JUNIOR stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and JUNIOR wants it to stay on the feet.

Kawazu closes the distance and pushes JUNIOR back into the cage.
Kawazu can't break the clinch.
JUNIOR tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kawazu smiles and moves away.
Kawazu tries to clinch there but JUNIOR circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
JUNIOR keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kawazu fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Masashi Kawazu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

JUNIOR stuffs the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
JUNIOR tries for a takedown but Kawazu circles away easily
and Kawazu counters with a left and a right that stings JUNIOR.

and JUNIOR counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kawazu is not content to let JUNIOR control the position.

Kawazu is defending against the submission attempts here by JUNIOR.
JUNIOR prevents Kawazu from standing back up.
JUNIOR works his foot free and advances to mount.

JUNIOR is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kawazu can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kawazu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

JUNIOR lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kawazu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for JUNIOR on the ground.
Kawazu is controlling an arm, preventing JUNIOR from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Kawazu can't escape the position.
Kawazu looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - JUNIOR's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Kawazu wants to control his opponent's hands but JUNIOR gets his hands free.
Kawazu prevents JUNIOR from getting a body triangle.

JUNIOR is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
CANALHA JUNIOR has got the better of the ground game so far.

JUNIOR working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Kawazu is doing well to defend. JUNIOR seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Kawazu is forced to tap and this one is over!
