Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tiagong Akyat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akyat's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Crank That. Mendez has chosen Big Pun-Dream Shatterer as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendez gets caught flat footed, as Akyat shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mendez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Akyat thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Akyat drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akyat jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mendez looking for a guillotine here but Akyat defends easily.

Akyat got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mendez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Akyat has managed to get both his arms back between Mendez's legs - danger averted.
