The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sommers misses with a body kick.
Cracker misses with the combination.
Sommers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sommers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sommers moves into range and clinches up with Cracker.
Cracker misses with a hook to the ribs.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sommers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Sommers goes for a takedown attempt but Cracker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cracker closes the distance looking to clinch

and Sommers counters by moving into the clinch.

Sommers is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cracker can't fight it off and eventually Sommers manages to take the fight to the floor. Cracker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cracker is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sommers dives into side control.
Cracker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sommers asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
