Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dragan Novak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen White Knuckles as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dragan Novak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Troy Peterson!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Novak shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Peterson's guard.
Novak passes Peterson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Novak gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Peterson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Peterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Peterson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Novak to the mat! Novak manages to get full guard.
Novak is trying to keep Peterson in close.
Peterson trying to control but Novak is working from the bottom.

Novak looking for a guillotine here but Peterson defends easily.
Peterson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Novak looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Novak controlling Peterson's posture.
Peterson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Novak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Novak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Peterson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Novak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Novak wants to sweep but no luck.
Novak trying to keep a closed guard but Peterson is proving a slippery customer.

Novak keeping busy on the bottom but Peterson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Novak is breathing heavily.
Peterson trying to control the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peterson is looking to stall here but Novak recovers full guard.
Peterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Novak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Novak is on top in guard.

Novak postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Novak, into his guard.
Peterson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Peterson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Peterson postures up.
Peterson thows a big elbow that misses.
Peterson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Peterson trying to control but Novak is working from the bottom.
Peterson lands a couple of digs.

Novak has his foot on Peterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peterson works his way back into a safe position though.

Peterson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Novak keeping moving, preventing Peterson from controlling successfully.

Novak is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Peterson frees his head nicely. Oh but Novak has switched to an armbar! Peterson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
