Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fernando del Valle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
del Valle shoots in looking for a takedown. Peters tries to sprawl out of it but del Valle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peters manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Peters decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
del Valle gets full guard.
del Valle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
del Valle tries to pass the half guard into mount. Peters knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
del Valle moves nicely into side control.
Peters is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
del Valle wants to free his trapped foot but Peters is holding on for dear life with his legs.

del Valle is working for a submission of some sort.
del Valle is keen to just control but Peters is a slippery customer.

del Valle is looking for a kimura here.
Peters keeping hold of del Valle's head, controlling as best he can.
Peters might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
del Valle passes to full mount!

del Valle jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Peters is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Peters and del Valle has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

del Valle works to advance to full mount. Peters defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

del Valle goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Peters turns into him and now he's in del Valle's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Peters lands a couple of digs.

del Valle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Peters is aware though and is defending well.
Peters has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
del Valle looks gassed!
Peters postures up in del Valle's guard and throws a big left but del Valle blocks it.
Peters trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Peters takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Peters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for del Valle on the ground.

Peters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Peters tries to get out of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peters is staying active underneath del Valle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
del Valle doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Peters counters with a nice double leg into guard.

del Valle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Peters defends well.

Peters working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

del Valle has got his arm under Peters's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Peters has spun round into del Valle's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peters, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
