Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Bush is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Burnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Bush!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush slips a jab from Burnett.

Burnett moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bush shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burnett as he jumps to the side.

Nick Burnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Bush.
Burnett tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bush was well out of range. Poor timing from Burnett.

Bush wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Burnett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bush circles away quickly and effectively.
Burnett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bush is defended easily by Burnett.
Burnett leaves Bush with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Burnett paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Bush fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burnett sprawls well initially but Bush persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bush not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Bush is looking to take a break and control but Burnett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bush goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Burnett rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bush's guard! Nice work there by Burnett!
Bush is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Burnett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bush on the ground.

Bush thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bush has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bush tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bush has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Burnett is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bush moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Burnett has worked his arm free - good work by Burnett!

Jay Bush showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
