The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Downs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGrady darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Noah Downs has been cut.
McGrady waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Downs.
McGrady closes the distance and clinches up with Downs, looking for a takedown. McGrady pushes Downs against the cage but Downs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Downs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McGrady.
McGrady dives in and grabs Downs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Downs pushes down on McGrady's head and hops out.
McGrady ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McGrady fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Downs stuffs the takedown attempt from McGrady. McGrady gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Downs looks for a takedown but McGrady sprawls well.

McGrady throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Downs was covering up waiting for the punch and McGrady finishes the takedown easily into guard.

McGrady wants to control from the top but Downs keeps moving.

Downs fails to land with a series of punches.

McGrady shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Downs manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Well McGrady has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
