The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rains is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Rains circles away and we're back to standing.
James comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
James tries to score with a low kick but Rains moves his leg out of the way.
Nice takedown defense from Rains. No joy for James on that attempt.
James avoids a punch combination nicely.
James moves in looking to clinch but Rains pushes him off.
James keeps the fight on the outside.
James fails to land the takedown.

Rains moves into the clinch successfully.

Rains breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and James counters with a nice double leg into guard.
James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
