La Ruso comes to the cage accompanied by Miagi's Flute. Gator has chosen Drop it Like its Hot as his entrance music. Skeeter Gator has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Daniel La Ruso's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
La Ruso gets a clinch.
La Ruso prevents a takedown attempt there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
La Ruso takes the fight into the clinch.
Gator is trying to break the clinch but La Ruso is controlling him.

Gator is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gator wants to improve his position but La Ruso is controlling well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gator avoids the attempt from La Ruso to control.

Daniel La Ruso is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
