Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luigi Mata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Luigi Mata was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mata shoots in looking for a takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl out of it but Mata keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belfort manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mata tries to bum rush Belfort with a series of wild strikes but Belfort uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A slapping body kick lands there for Mata.

Belfort clinches up with Mata and pushes him back against the cage.

Mata breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mata throws a right and a left that Belfort avoids nicely.

Mata makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Belfort can't get the takedown.
Belfort has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mata avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Belfort closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mata did well to prevent Belfort getting side control.
Mata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belfort. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mata is trying to stand up here but Belfort is controlling him well.

Belfort shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Belfort showed some decent athleticism there.

Mata tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Belfort has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mata tries to hold on but Belfort pushes him away.

Mata connects with a looping right hand.
Mata misses with a head kick.

Belfort moves into the clinch.
Mata keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Belfort's efforts to push away.
Belfort wants a takedown.
Belfort tries to pull guard but Mata holds him up against the cage and eventually Belfort drops back down to his feet.
Mata landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Mata jumps guard and drags Belfort to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mata escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Belfort gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mata wants to stand but Belfort is controlling the position.
Belfort passes Mata's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Vitor Belfort is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belfort is defended easily by Mata.

Belfort is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mata sees it coming and defends easily.

Belfort has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mata defend it? Belfort steps over the head and cranks it - Mata is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Belfort!
