Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cucu curu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). curu has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. cucu curu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James gets in close and instigates a clinch.
curu looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

James ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. James no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
James manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. James gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. James gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. James apologises and we restart here on the feet.

James bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but curu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

James changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. curu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
James is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down curu's shoulder. That is not cool.
James's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
James seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down curu for as long as he can get away with.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but curu keeps working.

James thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

James closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming curu to the mat! curu manages to get full guard.
