PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Fluke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sick Puppies-Youre going down. Phil Davis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fluke scores with a shot to the body.
Davis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Davis feints and as Fluke raises his hands in defense, Davis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Davis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fluke is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Fluke has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Davis off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Davis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fluke.
Davis moves forwards but Fluke connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Davis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fluke gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Davis goes for a takedown attempt but Fluke pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fluke clobbers Davis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Fluke connects with a good right hand that stumbles Davis. Davis circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Davis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Fluke uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Davis has time to react.

Davis looks to land a combination but Fluke avoids it well.

Fluke takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Davis needs to keep his hands up - Fluke had a free shot at his head there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fluke.
Fluke is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fluke dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davis. That did some damage!
Davis has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fluke finds it's way round the side to connect with Davis's head.

Fluke lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Davis backs up against the cage.

Nice uppercut lands for Fluke. That snapped Davis's head back.
Davis's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Fluke connects with a jab.
Fluke uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Davis has time to react.
Fluke lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Davis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fluke can pounce on him.
Davis takes one on the button.
Fluke connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Davis! He's out on his feet! Fluke rushes in and drops Davis with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
