Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Brady!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brady sprawls well. Brady wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brady is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Brady circles away and we're back to standing.
Brady circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brady stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson throws a right hand that Brady ducks under and follows up with a left that Brady also avoids with ease.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson.

Brady shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Brady wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

Brady tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson pushes Brady off looking to stand but Brady dives back in and keeps control.
Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Brady is very close to passing his half guard.
Johnson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Johnson.
Brady postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brady shoots in but no luck this time.

Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Brady shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Brady postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Brady is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brady accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Johnson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Brady puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Brady not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Johnson regains full guard. Nicely done.
Brady won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.
Brady stops Johnson from standing up.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Brady passes Johnson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson is looking to improve his position.
Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brady's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brady's back!
Brady tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Brady tries to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.
Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Brady can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like Kevin Brady has been cut.

Kevin Brady's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Brady is in all sorts of trouble here.
Johnson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brady can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brady is bucking up trying to escape but Johnson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kevin Brady's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Bob Johnson!
