Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Davis Wayne Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Stenemo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton shoots in but no luck this time.
Newton's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Newton duly obliges.
Newton tries to clinch but Stenemo is having none of it.
Newton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Stenemo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Newton swivels and escapes.
Newton moves in looking to clinch but Stenemo pushes him off.
Stenemo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Newton.
Stenemo circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Newton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Newton throws a right and a left that Stenemo avoids nicely.

Stenemo wants the takedown. Newton is fighting it off but Stenemo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Newton's guard against the cage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Stenemo works his way into side control.
Newton is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Stenemo asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Newton is breathing heavily.

Newton is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stenemo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Newton bucks up and tries to throw Stenemo off but instead Stenemo has got his back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stenemo controls the action.
Newton controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Stenemo just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Stenemo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kim Stenemo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stenemo shoots in looking for a takedown. Newton tries to sprawl out of it but Stenemo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Newton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Newton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Davis Wayne Newton will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Newton tries to clinch up but Stenemo circles away and keeps his distance.
Davis Wayne Newton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stenemo swats away the attempt to clinch by Newton.
Newton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Stenemo is rocked!
Newton throws a nice looking combination but Stenemo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Newton throws a right hand that Stenemo ducks under and follows up with a left that Stenemo also avoids with ease.
Newton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Newton is looking to clinch but Stenemo is avoiding it.
Stenemo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Newton as he jumps to the side.

and Stenemo counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Newton has managed to clinch.
A short body shot lands from Stenemo as the two fighters clinch.
Newton wants to get back to striking at distance but Stenemo won't allow it.
Newton has a couple of punches blocked by Stenemo.
Newton lands a right hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Stenemo pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stenemo is on top in guard.

Stenemo is pushing down on Newton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Newton is fighting to maintain full guard but Stenemo has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
