PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sasa Gusi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusi comes to the cage accompanied by Ekipa- BGD Syndicate. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Robertson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gusi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Robertson.

Gusi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Robertson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gusi is looking to work some ground and pound but Robertson has wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Robertson throws a lazy right hand but Gusi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Robertson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Gusi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gusi shoots in but Robertson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gusi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gusi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Robertson pulls Gusi in close to his closed guard and prevents Gusi from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gusi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Robertson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Robertson has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gusi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gusi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robertson is fending him off so far but Gusi persists. Nope, Robertson circles away and we're back to standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gusi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Robertson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gusi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Brian Robertson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Robertson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
