Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tarmo Tuurivirta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buford Tannen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tarmo Tuurivirta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tannen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Tarmo Tuurivirta has been cut.
Tuurivirta shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Tuurivirta fails to land with a series of punches.
Tannen tries for a takedown but Tuurivirta sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Tuurivirta counters with a straight right hand.

Tannen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Tuurivirta just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tannen's brow.

Tuurivirta clobbers Tannen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Horrible takedown by Tannen or perhaps it was just good defense by Tuurivirta which made him look bad.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tannen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tuurivirta pinned against the cage. Tuurivirta gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tannen has control of Tuurivirta's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tuurivirta regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tuurivirta is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tuurivirta feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
