The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trejo is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cayro gets his way!

Trejo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cayro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trejo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cayro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cayro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cayro.
Cayro shoots for a double leg takedown but Trejo sprawls well. He's pushed Cayro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin Cayro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Trejo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cayro slaps away a takedown attempt from Trejo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Trejo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cayro sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Trejo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Trejo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cayro's waist but Cayro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trejo off to one side.

Cayro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Trejo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cayro has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Trejo looks to clinch

Trejo is staying active underneath Cayro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Trejo is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Cayro!
