Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James york (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samryn Redflame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James york!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samryn Redflame!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Redflame checks a leg kick.
A jab lands there for york.
Redflame is looking to clinch.
Redflame takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A nice combination there by york.
Redflame misses with a body kick.
Redflame changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. york tries to avoid it but Redflame manages to keep hold of a leg and drag york to the ground. york escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from york is defended easily by Redflame.
Redflame wants to clinch.
york keeps the fight on the outside.
york has a takedown stuffed.
york is looking to clinch but Redflame is avoiding it.
Redflame stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Redflame wants it to stay on the feet.

and york decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Redflame's guard.

york drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Redflame manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now york has Redflame in his guard.

Redflame thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Redflame drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but york manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Redflame has york in his guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
york wants to control from the top but Redflame keeps moving.
york stands up over Redflame, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Redflame looks gassed!

york is working Redflame over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

york postures up in Redflame's guard and throws a big left but Redflame blocks it.

york drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and york jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
york is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

york thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Redflame looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James york dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Redflame shoots and misses

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Redflame takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
york lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

york wants to control but Redflame is keeping him busy.
york cracks Redflame with an elbow. That is naaassty.

york tries for a kimura but Redflame is defending well.

york working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
york has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
york in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Redflame's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

york thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Redflame manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Redflame is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. york doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Redflame.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Redflame is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Redflame wants to free his trapped foot but york is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
york is trying to stand back up but Redflame is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James york dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Redflame gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
york loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
york trying to control but Redflame is working from the bottom.

york drops back, looking for a kneebar! Redflame looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Redflame looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Redflame!
york is trying to buck Redflame off.
york really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Redflame throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
york is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
york trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Redflame wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by york, who protects the arm well.
york is trying to buck Redflame off.
James york overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Redflame wants to lay and pray for a moment but york keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from york.
Samryn Redflame has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
york tests Redflame's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. york darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

york rushes Redflame and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

york pulls guard effortlessly.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
york wants to stand up but Redflame is controlling him.
James york is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

york pushes Redflame off and gets back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
James york showed his dominance in that final round.
Well york has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
