Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaxson Leffler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenjiro Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jaxson Leffler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenjiro Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leffler looks for a takedown but Maeda sprawls well.
Leffler throws a combination. Maeda tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Maeda dodges the punch combination from Leffler.
Leffler throws a leg kick that misses.
Maeda fails in his attempt to clinch.
Leffler keeps the fight on the outside.

Maeda gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Leffler is looking to break free of the clinch but Maeda has double underhooks.
Maeda prevents a takedown attempt there.
Maeda misses with a knee strike.
Leffler can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaxson Leffler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maeda tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Maeda with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Maeda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Leffler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Leffler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maeda knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Leffler working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Leffler tries for a kimura but Maeda is defending well.
Leffler tries to advance to mount but Maeda denies him.
Leffler is breathing heavily.
Maeda is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Leffler is controlling him well.
Maeda taking punishment in the form of punches.
Maeda can't do much from the bottom here.
Leffler creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Maeda sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Maeda has eaten all the pies!
Leffler in side control lands a decent elbow.

Leffler goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Maeda has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Leffler but great work by Maeda.
Leffler tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Leffler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maeda lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Leffler tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Leffler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Maeda prevents Leffler from improving his position.
Leffler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maeda's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maeda's back!

Leffler is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Leffler connects with a big shot to the side of Maeda's head.

Leffler is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Maeda is defending well though. Leffler let's go of the attempt for now.

Leffler is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Maeda defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Maeda defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Maeda stands up from Leffler's guard - Maeda perhaps looking for a knockout.
Leffler keeps the fight on the outside.
Leffler goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Maeda is rocked!
Leffler lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Maeda is still on wobbly legs! Can Leffler finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Leffler lands with a big left! Maeda is wobbled badly! Leffler comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Maeda to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jaxson Leffler!
