The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gooden paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ryan moves forwards but Gooden connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gooden throws out a powerful jab.

Ryan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ryan moves in looking to clinch but Gooden pushes him off.

Gooden throws a head kick that misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gooden circles away.

Gooden bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ryan's head backwards.
Ryan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gooden avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Aran Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gooden tried to score with a low kick but Ryan checks it.

Nice defenses there by Ryan.

Gooden stands up from Ryan's guard - Gooden perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ryan is still on wobbly legs! Can Gooden finish him?
Ryan clinches but Gooden breaks the clinch

and Gooden goes for a counter takedown and lands it with interest - it's knocked his opponent senseless! It looks like Gooden 's shoulder did the damage as the two fighters hit the mat.
