The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn misses with a hook.
Akiyama paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gunn takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A punch combination from Akiyama misses.
Akiyama ducks under a wild hook from Gunn.
Akiyama throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Akiyama misses with a double jab.
Nice straight punches there by Akiyama. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Akiyama.
Akiyama is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A jab from Akiyama finds it's way through Gunn's defenses.
Gunn takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Akiyama lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Akiyama throws a right hand that Gunn ducks under and follows up with a left that Gunn also avoids with ease.
Akiyama doesn't manage to clinch there - Gunn circles away.
Yoshihiro Akiyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Akiyama closes the distance and pushes Gunn back into the cage.
Akiyama scores with a nice hook to the head.
Akiyama unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Gunn! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Akiyama is unloading with more strikes now! Gunn drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
