The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fair leaves Sela with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Sela counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sela.

Sela gets to his feet - Fair follows without any prompting.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sela wants to stand and escape but instead Fair has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fair accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fair has gone for a leg lock! Sela slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fair's guard.

Fair drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sela looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sela looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sela!
Fair is breathing heavily.

Sela stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sela closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

and Sela decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fair's guard.

Fair has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sela can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sela got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fair has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sela has managed to get both his arms back between Fair's legs - danger averted.
