The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alvez but Alvez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Tiu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Tiu is trying to get an arm triangle but Alvez is defending well.

Tiu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alvez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alvez's back!
Alvez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tiu on the ground.

Tiu seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Alvez's chin but Alvez turns very nicely into Tiu's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Alvez.

Tiu is trying to stick to Alvez's back but Alvez is turning into Tiu. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tiu's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alvez.

Tiu has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Alvez doesn't defend quickly enough and Tiu has managed to lock this one up! Can Alvez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Tiu on a fantastic submission victory.
