Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Ashworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gucio Gucik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gucik is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dawaj na ring !!!!. Gucio Gucik looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gucik misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Ashworth scores a takedown into full mount!
Ashworth tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Ashworth can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gucik is looking to escape.

Ashworth goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gucik turns into him and now he's in Ashworth's guard.
Ashworth is pulling down on Gucik's head. It's preventing any offense from Gucik, at least for the moment.
Ashworth doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Gucik postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ashworth controls Gucik momentarily but Gucik frees himself.
Gucik won't allow Ashworth to sweep him here.

Gucik wants to control from the top but Ashworth keeps moving.
Ashworth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gucik is one step ahead there.
Ashworth has control of Gucik's left arm, preventing Gucik from doing any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ashworth moves into range and clinches up with Gucik.
Ashworth jumps guard but Gucik stands there with Ashworth around his waist. Ashworth gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ashworth tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gucik just stands there and leans against the cage.

Gucik pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gucik paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gucik looks gassed!
Gucik throws a head kick that half lands.

Ashworth shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gucik napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gucik trying to remain calm as Ashworth controls from the top position.
Gucik is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ashworth is controlling him well.
You can see the frustration on Gucik's face as Ashworth controls the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Ashworth tries to advance to mount but can't.
Ashworth tries to score with some ground and pound. Gucik controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Gucik is trying to escape the position but Ashworth is controlling the position.
Gucik prevents Ashworth from improving position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ashworth throws a strike aimed at the side of Gucik's head but Gucik avoids it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ashworth is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gucik knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gucik leaves Ashworth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gucik tries a head kick but it misses.

Ashworth closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gucik to the mat! Gucik manages to get full guard.
Gucik wants to get back to his feet but Ashworth passes into half guard.
Ashworth prevents Gucik from standing back up.
Ashworth knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gucik on the ground.

Gucik kicks Ashworth off and gets back to his feet.

Ashworth moves into the clinch successfully.
Gucik wants to get back to striking at distance but Ashworth won't allow it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gucik avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ashworth takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ashworth throws a front kick aimed at Gucik's knee but Gucik avoids it well.
Gucik avoids a kick to the body.
Gucik keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ashworth takes the fight into the clinch.
Gucik has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Ashworth jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gucik walks away with a smile on his face. Ashworth gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ashworth pushes Gucik back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gucik wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ashworth has him pressed against the cage.
Ashworth tries a knee to the head but Gucik blocks it.

Gucik is looking to control Ashworth's arms but Ashworth gets an underhook and turns him. Now Gucik has his back to the cage.

Ashworth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ashworth wants to get back to striking at distance but Gucik won't allow it.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Gucik in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Ashworth closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ashworth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gucik's waist but Gucik gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ashworth off to one side.
Gucik throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Gucik tries to escape but Ashworth is in control.
Ashworth tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gucik's legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ashworth is trying to control. Gucik wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ashworth is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gucik is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ashworth won't let Gucik get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Tony Ashworth overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tony Ashworth just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Ashworth moves away from the strike by Gucik.
Ashworth scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ashworth, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
