Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between pierre smirnoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). pierre smirnoff looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hill decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hill lands a nice short elbow.

smirnoff looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Hill is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. smirnoff doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hill.
Hill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with smirnoff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
smirnoff wants to get back to full guard.

smirnoff looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Hill pushes past his half guard into mount!

Hill is going oldschool here, as he tries to force smirnoff to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so smirnoff shrugs it off.

smirnoff is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hill knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hill for a finish.
smirnoff is trying to stick to Hill's back but Hill is turning into smirnoff. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in smirnoff's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hill.
smirnoff really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

smirnoff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
smirnoff grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Hill doesn't have the hooks in and smirnoff manages to turn into his guard.

smirnoff drops back looking for a leg! Hill is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hill manages to kick smirnoff off! smirnoff jumps back into Hill's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hill.

smirnoff misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around smirnoff's waist but smirnoff gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hill off to one side.

Hill changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. smirnoff looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hill stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hill looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ethan Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
smirnoff throws a head kick that misses.

Hill bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
smirnoff is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hill off and has taken his back!
Hill is trying to stand back up.
Hill breaks smirnoff's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
smirnoff will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

smirnoff is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

smirnoff is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hill is aware though and is defending well.

Hill got a little sloppy there for a moment and smirnoff has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hill has managed to get both his arms back between smirnoff's legs - danger averted.
Hill distracts smirnoff with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

smirnoff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. smirnoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to pierre smirnoff.
I think Hill has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
