Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxx pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Alves misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maxx.
Maxx throws a series of punches but Alves avoids them all with ease.
A slow jab from Maxx misses its intended target.
A swing and a miss from Maxx.
Alves moves out of range of the strikes.
A big left from Maxx misses.
Maxx misses with a wild combination.
Maxx connects with a crisp jab.
Maxx throws a head kick that misses.
Maxx misses with a two punch combination.
Maxx thows a left - swing and a miss!
Alves ducks under a wild hook from Maxx.
Maxx gets caught flat footed, as Alves shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Alves drops back looking for a leg! Maxx is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Maxx manages to kick Alves off! Alves jumps back into Maxx's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maxx preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Alves working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Maxx's head.
Alves won't allow Maxx to sweep him here.
Alves stops Maxx from standing up.
Maxx might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maxx swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alves has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alves prevents Maxx from getting back to his feet.
Alves forces his way into half guard.
Alves sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Maxx defending well though.
Maxx is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Alves moves out of range of the strikes.
Alves has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alves there as he acknowledges the shot.
Alves paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Alves takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Antonio Alves has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maxx pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maxx has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like TJ Maxx has been cut.
Maxx is breathing heavily.
Alves walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Maxx checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Alves avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Maxx is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Alves feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Alves wants to control from the top but Maxx keeps moving.
Maxx knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alves on the ground.

Alves connects with a couple of short punches.

Alves thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Maxx looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alves is one step ahead there.
Alves won't allow Maxx to get back to his feet.

Maxx pushes Alves off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
TJ Maxx is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Maxx misses with a straight left.
Maxx scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Maxx misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alves looks to land a left hand but Maxx moved out of range nicely.
Alves moves away from the strike by Maxx.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Maxx throws out the jab.
Maxx throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A punch combination from Alves misses.
Maxx lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
TJ Maxx dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Maxx throws a hook but Alves blocks it.
Alves looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Maxx!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Alves manages to capitalize on a mistake by Maxx to take his back!
Maxx is trying to stand back up.
Alves connects with a big shot to the side of Maxx's head.
Alves cracks Maxx with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Maxx from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Maxx has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Alves scores with strikes from the back.
Maxx covers up after that shot from Alves.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maxx is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Maxx misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Alves forces Maxx back against the cage and clinches.
Maxx looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Maxx just stands there and leans against the cage.
Alves tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alves jumps guard but Maxx stands there with Alves around his waist. Alves gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
TJ Maxx has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Alves.
Maxx is trying to break free.
Alves ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alves no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Alves working for a triangle but Maxx defends it easily.
Maxx with a flurry of punches that miss.
Alves has his foot on Maxx's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maxx works his way back into a safe position though.
Maxx tries to stand but Alves is controlling from the bottom.
Alves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maxx can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Maxx wants to control from the top but Alves keeps moving.
Maxx stands up from Alves's guard - Maxx perhaps looking for a knockout.
TJ Maxx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maxx drops Alves with a beautiful combination! Alves stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Maxx is looking for the KO!
Alves is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maxx lands with a right and another and another! Alves is in big trouble! Maxx lands again and this time it's lights out for Alves! A quality knockout there for Maxx.
