Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gene Carano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carano wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Carano.
Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.
Carano tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.

Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Johnson passes Carano's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carano knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carano is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Carano wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away.
Carano is trying to escape the mount.
Carano tries to lock up and control but Johnson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Johnson has hold of Carano's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carano manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Johnson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Carano to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Carano shrugs it off.

Carano is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Johnson prevents Carano from getting the reversal.

Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carano throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Carano lands a big head kick that sends Johnson to the canvas! Carano follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gene Carano!
