Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mr Data (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timu Puruunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Timu Puruunen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puruunen tries to clinch but Data moves out of range.

Data forces Puruunen back against the cage and clinches.
Data manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Puruunen tries to work over Data's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Puruunen obliges.

Data has Puruunen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Data pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Puruunen tumbling to the mat - Data dives into Puruunen's guard.
Puruunen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Data sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Puruunen's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Data connects with a nice short shot to Puruunen's temple.
Data is pressing down on Puruunen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Puruunen is holding on for now.
Puruunen is refusing to be controlled, as Data sits in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Data holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Data cracks Puruunen with a big right hand but Puruunen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mr Data is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Data, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
