PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Atonio Rodrigo Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingston James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogueira's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Can't Be Touched. James is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big Mouth Strikes Again. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Atonio Rodrigo Nogueira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kingston James!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
James darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
James misses with a body shot.
Nogueira closes the distance and lands a one-two.
James takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A big left from Nogueira misses.
Nogueira slips under a jab from James.
Nogueira tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Nogueira.
Nogueira moves out of range as James strikes.
Nogueira fails with an attempt to clinch.

James fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nogueira, pushing him back against the cage.

James gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Nogueira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nogueira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
James is looking to stand up but Nogueira won't let him.

James is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Nogueira moves into the clinch successfully.
Nogueira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. James is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nogueira looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.
Kingston James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James swats away the attempt to clinch by Nogueira.
James throws a lazy right hand but Nogueira sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The strikes coming from James are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

James is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Nogueira looks calm but he's in trouble here. James gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Nogueira is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! James lets go of the hold and Nogueira can pop his arm back in it's socket.
