Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, denis opal!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas ducks under a wild hook from opal.
Thomas blocks a jab.
Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

opal shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thomas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Thomas tries to bench press opal off him but opal keeps the position.

opal decides to stand back up. opal steps back and let's Thomas get back to his feet.
opal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

opal looks up at the clock and then as Thomas takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, opal smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Thomas tries to control the position but he's not in luck - opal easily slips into full mount!

Thomas tries to lock up and control but opal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Thomas is bucking up trying to escape but opal cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Thomas somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

opal moves into the clinch.
Thomas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Thomas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as opal walks away with a smile on his face. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

opal has clasped his hands together around Thomas's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
opal wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy.

Thomas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Thomas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
opal blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Thomas manages to break the clinch.
Thomas circles away from the clinch attempt.

opal closes the distance and clinches.
opal lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Thomas backwards.
Thomas tries to break free but opal pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Thomas's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

opal wants to hold on but Thomas pushes him away.
opal is in a horrible position here. Thomas smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thomas avoids the attempt from opal to control.

Thomas is going oldschool here, as he tries to force opal to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so opal shrugs it off.

opal fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thomas manages to avoid it.

Thomas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

and opal counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by opal.
opal jumps guard but Thomas stands there with opal around his waist. opal gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Thomas tries to land a knee to the head but opal blocks with his arms.

Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
opal throws a head kick that misses.
opal misses with a hook to the body

so Thomas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

opal pushes Thomas off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
opal gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Thomas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Paul Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of denis opal.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Thomas stands up from opal's guard - Thomas perhaps looking for a knockout.
opal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
