Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cottoneye Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johns's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cocaine Blues. The crowd seem to be enjoying Joe's choice of entrance music: Cottoneye Joe. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tim Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cottoneye Joe!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe defending well as Johns loads up on a big left hand.
Joe throws a low kick but Johns avoids it.
Johns misses with a hook. Joe ducked under it nicely.
Joe finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Johns takes a swing at Joe's ribcage but misses.
Johns misses with a hook. Joe ducked under it nicely.
Joe lands with a nice combination. Johns backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Tim Johns has been cut.
The fighters circle momentarily. Johns darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Johns throws a hook to the side of Joe's head but Joe sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Joe lands with a slapping head kick.
Johns misses with a hook.
Johns lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Joe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joe throws a nice looking combination but Johns bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johns misses with a hook. Joe ducked under it nicely.
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johns paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Johns swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johns misses with a straight left.
A clash of legs there as Joe blocks the low kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johns throws a hook but Joe blocks it.
Johns misses with a hook.
Johns is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Joe.
Johns scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Johns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Joe lands a head shot.
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johns paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Joe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johns.
A right-left combo lands from Joe.
Joe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johns misses with a looping right.
The fight stays on the outside here - Joe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johns throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joe on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Joe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Joe tries to clinch up but Johns circles away and keeps his distance.
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johns swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Johns throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch combination from Joe misses.
Joe throws a body punch but Johns moves out of range.
A slow jab from Johns misses its intended target.
Joe dodges the punch combination from Johns.
Joe is looking to clinch but Johns is avoiding it.
No joy there for Johns, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johns misses with a series of wild punches.
Joe throws a combination that misses
and Johns counters with a leg kick.
Cottoneye Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johns throws a nice inside leg kick.
Joe throws a left and a right that both miss
and Johns cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Cottoneye Joe has been cut.
Joe looks gassed!
Joe throws a lazy right hand but Johns sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good exchange - Johns coming out on top.
Johns missing with a left hand there. Joe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Joe slips a jab from Johns.
Johns scores with the left hand. Joe knows he should have avoided that one.
Johns throws a shot from downtown. Joe moves away and avoids it.

Johns gets the takedown into side control.
Joe is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Johns thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Joe tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Johns presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joe is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johns landing punches.
Johns punching from mount but Joe doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Johns can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Joe is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Joe is looking to improve his position but Johns isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tim Johns will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action!


Johns thows a body shot but no joy.
Cottoneye Joe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Joe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Johns looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Johns thuds his right hand into Joe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cottoneye Joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Joe moves out of range of the strikes.
Joe throws out a loose jab but Johns uses good head movement to avoid it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johns.
A head kick by Joe misses
and Johns counters with a nice uppercut.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Johns throws out a powerful jab.
Joe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Joe gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Johns connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Joe! He's out on his feet! Johns rushes in and drops Joe with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tim Johns!
