The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alves throws a looping overhand right but Kilgore ducks down to avoid it.
Alves thuds his right hand into Kilgore's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kilgore throws the left hand but Alves avoids the punch easily.
Alves throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kilgore.
A swing and a miss from Alves.
Alves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kilgore steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alves.
Alves chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Alves lands with a hook. Kilgore tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kilgore looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alves is fending him off so far but Kilgore persists. Nope, Alves circles away and we're back to standing.
Kilgore misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Kilgore. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alves moves into range and connects with a jab.

Oh Kilgore is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kilgore is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kilgore drops his hands momentarily. Alves doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Kilgore staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Kilgore doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
