Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arturo Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damien Brisebois!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brisebois moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
Brisebois working Jones over with knees to the body.
Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brisebois walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Brisebois feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Brisebois changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brisebois trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Brisebois wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Brisebois dives into side control.

Brisebois stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brisebois is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard.

Brisebois stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Brisebois counters with a big head kick but Jones shrugs it off.

Jones has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brisebois sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Brisebois counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Brisebois wants to stand up but Jones has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brisebois is working away from the top position though.
Brisebois is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brisebois in particular looking to stall.
Jones is looking to improve his position.
Brisebois missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Brisebois takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Brisebois counters with a left and a right that stings Jones.
Brisebois scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Brisebois throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brisebois is stalling here. Jones is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Brisebois seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well Brisebois has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
